Acceptable Use Policy and AI Model Disclosure

Updated: 2026-10-23. This policy forms part of the Rekindle Terms of Service and applies to all uploaded photos, audio, prompts, generated images and videos, and use or distribution of outputs. It supplements the other acceptable-use rules below.

Content standards and prohibited categories

You must not upload, request, generate, share, or use Rekindle for any of the following, including attempts to bypass safeguards:

  1. Sexual / NSFW content: Pornography, sexually explicit content, sexual services, fetish content, non-consensual intimate imagery, or sexualized nudity.
  2. Violence / gore: Graphic violence, gore, mutilation, torture, cruelty, or content that threatens, glorifies, encourages, or facilitates violence or terrorism.
  3. Hate speech: Content that promotes hatred, dehumanization, discrimination, harassment, or violence against people based on protected characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability.
  4. Child unsafe content (CSAM): Any child sexual abuse material, sexualization or exploitation of minors, grooming, or content endangering children. This includes synthetic, fictional, or AI-generated depictions. Never upload or generate such material.
  5. Deepfake / impersonation abuse: Deceptive or non-consensual deepfakes, impersonation, identity fraud, fabricated endorsements, or misleading depictions of real people speaking or acting. Use a person's likeness or voice only with the necessary permission or other lawful authorization. Do not present AI-generated output as an authentic recording or evidence; disclose that it is AI-generated when sharing it.
  6. Copyright / trademark infringement: Content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights, including unauthorized use of protected photos, recordings, characters, or logos. Only submit material you own or are authorized to use.

User reporting

Report suspected violations to support@getrekindle.app with the subject Content Report. Include the relevant page or output URL, generation/task ID if available, category of concern, a brief explanation, and a contact address for follow-up. Rights holders should identify the protected work and explain their authority to report it. Do not attach, download, or redistribute suspected CSAM; provide the location and identifying information instead. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services.

Content moderation and enforcement

Rekindle reviews reports and detected policy violations. Review may include the reported content, relevant account/task records, and evidence of consent or rights. Access to reported content or features may be restricted while a report is investigated. AI providers may reject requests under their safety policies; automated checks, where enabled, are not a guarantee of safety. We do not claim that every upload or output is automatically screened or reviewed before generation.

Depending on the severity and applicable law, we may refuse or cancel generation, remove or disable access to content under our control, issue warnings, limit features, suspend or terminate accounts, and prevent repeated abuse. Where required by law, we preserve relevant information and report suspected illegal activity to the competent authorities. Affected users may request review or appeal by emailing support@getrekindle.app with their task/account reference and relevant context. We review additional information and may uphold, change, or reverse the action. Do not include illegal material in an appeal.

Underlying AI models

Rekindle currently routes these features through Kie AI to the following models:

  • Photo restoration and colorization: ByteDance Seedream 4.5 Edit (model ID: seedream/4.5-edit). Both operations use the same image-editing model with different instructions.
  • Photo to Video / Animate Your Photo: ByteDance Seedance 2.0 Mini (model ID: bytedance/seedance-2-mini).

Outputs are AI-generated, may be inaccurate, and are not authentic recordings of events. Third-party models and trademarks belong to their respective owners; naming them does not imply endorsement or affiliation. The generation interface identifies the selected model; we update this disclosure when the available models change. Rekindle does not currently provide built-in text-to-speech or voice cloning.

Introduction and Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Rekindle (getrekindle.app), an AI-powered photo restoration and enhancement service. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any of these terms, please do not use our service.

Service Description

Rekindle provides AI-powered tools for:

  • Photo Restoration: Repair scratches, tears, fading, and other damage on old photographs
  • Photo Colorization: Add natural colors to black and white photos
  • Photo to Video: Animate still photos with natural movements such as blinking, smiling, and head turning

All processing is performed by AI models and the results are generated automatically.

User Accounts

  1. Account Creation: To use Rekindle's features, you must create an account using your email address or through a third-party sign-in provider (Google). You must provide accurate and complete information.
  1. Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
  1. One Account Per Person: Each user should maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to abuse credits or promotions is prohibited.
  1. Account Termination: You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Credits and Pricing

Rekindle operates on a credit-based system:

  • Photo Restoration: 5 credits per photo
  • Photo to Video: 30 credits per video

Credit Packs

You may purchase one-time credit packs. Credits from packs are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. Unused credits expire after this period.

Subscription Plans

Monthly and yearly subscription plans provide a recurring credit allowance. Subscription credits reset each billing period and do not roll over.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Price changes for subscriptions take effect at the next billing cycle. Active credit packs are not affected by price changes.

Payment and Refunds

  • Payments are processed securely through Waffo Pancake (default), Stripe, and PayPal. We do not store your full payment card details.
  • All prices are displayed in USD unless otherwise specified.
  • Refund Policy: If you are unsatisfied with a restoration result, contact our support team within 7 days for a refund on that specific transaction. Refunds are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • Subscription Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

User Content and Uploads

  1. Ownership: You retain all ownership rights to the photos and audio you upload to Rekindle.
  1. License to Process: By uploading content, you grant Rekindle a limited, non-exclusive license to process, transform, and store your content solely for the purpose of delivering the requested services.
  1. Content Responsibility: You represent that you have the legal right to upload all content you submit. You must not upload photos of individuals without their consent or photos that you do not have the right to use.
  1. Content Retention: Uploaded photos and generated results are automatically deleted from our servers after 30 days. You are responsible for downloading your results before this period expires.
  1. No Backup Guarantee: Rekindle is not a storage service. We do not guarantee the availability of your uploaded content or generated results beyond the retention period.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
  • Upload content that infringes on others' intellectual property or privacy rights
  • Use AI-generated outputs for fraud, impersonation, or deception (e.g., creating deepfakes to mislead others)
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the service
  • Attempt to circumvent credit requirements or exploit system vulnerabilities
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service's security or performance
  • Resell or commercially redistribute Rekindle's AI-generated outputs without proper attribution
  • Use the service for any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations

Intellectual Property

Rekindle's website, branding, logos, and documentation are protected by intellectual property laws. Third-party AI models, software, and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer protected parts of our platform except as permitted by applicable law or license.

AI-Generated Content

  • Results produced by Rekindle are generated by artificial intelligence and may not be perfectly accurate.
  • We do not guarantee specific outcomes, quality levels, or that results will meet your expectations.
  • You are solely responsible for how you use, share, or publish AI-generated content from Rekindle.
  • AI-generated content may be subject to intellectual property considerations in your jurisdiction. It is your responsibility to comply with applicable laws regarding AI-generated content.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. REKINDLE MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REKINDLE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR DAMAGE TO YOUR PHOTOS OR FILES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO REKINDLE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rekindle, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the service, your uploaded content, or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Rekindle at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise inappropriate. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Any unused credits are forfeited upon termination for cause.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated through the service or via email. Your continued use of Rekindle after any changes signifies your acceptance of the updated Terms.
